Beyond Code transforms into Beyond Anthill, introducing you to the rest of the talent that drives Anthill to success. In this edition, we meet with Christian Alexandrov, Talent Acquisition Specialist at Anthill, owner of a beautiful German Shepherd, and an aspiring radio show host on Sundays. Discover his motivation to join the Anthill team, what he loves about his role and his vast range of hobbies.
Describe your role at Anthill and what a typical day looks like for you. Describe your role at Anthill and what a typical day looks like for you.
Chris: I’m part of the Talent Acquisition team and take responsibility for the end-to-end recruitment process. Bearing in mind the fact that this means constantly working with people, I don’t believe that there’s a typical day. It’s a dynamic role and that’s the fun of it.
Describe your job in a way that a 3-year-old would understand it.
Chris: You know how you shouldn’t speak to a stranger who offers you candy. Well, for some people I am something like that, but instead of candy I present people with real opportunities to advance in their careers.
What was your motivation to join Anthill’s team?
Chris: The company gave me the chance to be part of the building process of something new that corresponds with my values. Also, the opportunity to have an impact on its culture.
How does Anthill encourage and support you to pursue your own interests?
Chris: By providing me with the tools for that, most important of which, I think, is the flexibility in many aspects of my day-to-day work.
Can you share something that you are currently working on that you find particularly exciting or challenging, and why?
Chris: Many times, I am on a quest to find a needle in a haystack which may seem impossible, but with the right attitude and approach, you find it. And when you do, the feeling is great. It’s like a riddle.
What are your future goals & aspirations?
Chris: I’d like to broaden my knowledge and experience in as many areas as possible. Probably not the best strategy, but hey, that’s what excites me.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Chris: I have a quite spoiled German Shepherd, so there’s that – some dog training. Typically, I am a calm person, but also need my fair share of adrenaline, so a bit of rock climbing and definitely looking for something more extreme to add. For the rainy days, I play the guitar and on Sundays I have my own radio show where I surprise people with my questionable music taste, not playing the guitar, just other people’s music. Also, I could teach you how to fold paper.
Drop Chris a note if you’re interested in any of our open positions and he will help you on your journey to becoming part of our awesome team!
