In this interview, Elitza Roupcheva, HR Operations Manager shares insights into her role, motivations, and aspirations. Discover how she helps make Anthill a workplace where everyone feels supported and inspired to thrive, all while balancing challenging projects, global teamwork, and a mission to build an unstoppable team of innovators.
Describe your role at Anthill and what a typical day looks like for you.
For the Anthill HR team, no two days are ever the same – and that’s exactly why I love it! Here’s what a typical workday might look like: When I arrive at the office, I start with a quick chat with my colleagues, catching up on anything interesting from the night before. Then, I grab a cup of coffee, settle at my desk, and review the CVs that came in overnight.
Next, we have our morning recruitment sync meeting, where we set the day’s priorities. From there, my tasks could include writing a social media post, updating or creating work processes, refreshing data reports, participating in interviews, having a sync call with a client, or discussing career plans with colleagues.
Describe your job in a way that a 3-year-old would understand it.
An HR Manager’s job is like being a friend at the playground. I make sure everyone is happy, has all the toys they need, and plays nicely together. If someone has a problem with a game or a toy I help fix it. I also find new friends to join us on the playground, like picking the best players for a game. My job is to make the playground a good place for everyone!
What was your motivation to join Anthill’s team?
I was fascinated by Anthills social initiatives and the teamwork shown in the social media. I saw posts of happy people working together for a common goal and having fun while doing it! Anthill did not disappoint me – this is exactly what I experience every day at work.
How does Anthill encourage and support you to pursue your interests?
My workplace encourages and supports me by fostering an open and safe environment where I can freely share my ideas and see them valued. It provides international exposure through projects that connect me with diverse teams and clients worldwide, offering the chance to collaborate with people from various cultures and perspectives. This global interaction broadens my skills and inspires innovative thinking.
Can you share something you are currently working on that you find particularly exciting or challenging, and why?
An intriguing project I am working on currently is the upgrade of Anthill’s Unified Interview Criteria and calibrating it with our partners. Any Recruitment and HR professional knows that it is not easy to create interview assessment criteria. Imagine a comprehensive 360-degree assessment interview process, seamlessly aligning Bulgarian candidates with the diverse requirements of clients spanning two continents. This approach transcends boundaries and bridges cultural differences. We do not want to simply buy a ready-made solution to do this, we want to create an assessment that works 100% for us and our clients and it is specifically designed for all our needs.
What are your future goals & aspirations?
People are inherently social, and true growth comes from working and learning together. At Anthill, we already embody this spirit, and my goal for the future is to preserve that and take it to new heights of excellence. I want to hire more people like us – to build a team of unstoppable innovators—people who are kind, who believe nothing is impossible and people who are driven to revolutionize the IT world!
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Play puzzles and listen to good music! I also take classes to play the guitar and piano.
