Another Beyond Anthill is here, and this time we delve into the daily life and career motivations of Antonio Iliev, Junior Application Support Engineer. Find out how Anthill supports him on his software development journey and his aspirations for the future.
Can you share a bit about your background and what sparked your interest in software development?
From a very early age my father introduced me to computers. I started playing games and I was obsessed with the idea of having permissions on every server in all games. Unfortunately, because I was a little boy no one had any trust in me, and this was the moment that I started creating my own servers for different types of games. So, because of this, I expanded the vision in my head that these servers are created by coding, and this is what sparked my interest in technology and coding.
Describe your role at Anthill and what a typical day looks like for you.
Currently, I work as a Junior Application Support Engineer for CCCIS. In this role, I am highly engaged with CCCIS Cloud and Desktop applications. There are daily bug reproductions, thinking of scenarios how customers were able to break the code (without wanting to), so I can break it the same way and think of a solution. Also, we are creating and activating new features for customers.
Technology is constantly evolving. Are there any technologies or tools that you’ve discovered or learned about at Anthill that have particularly excited or inspired you?
At Anthill, discovering Angular has been incredibly inspiring. I’m excited to continue learning and mastering my skills to further enhance our web development projects once I am in the web development team.
What was your motivation to join Anthill’s team?
I wanted to start my developing journey and the whole interview process was one of the best that I ever had. Because of the interviewers, I felt like I was already in the team and did my best to be.
How does Anthill encourage and support you to grow on your software development journey?
Anthill encourage and support me at their highest. I never felt this good in a company. They provide us with learning courses (internal and external) to facilitate our continuous development.
Can you share something that you are currently working on that you find particularly exciting or challenging, and why?
Currently, with my colleague, we are creating a new version of CCCIS Cloud Connect, expanding our customers’ needs.
Looking ahead, what aspects of software development are you most eager to explore or develop further skills in?
I’m excited about expanding my skills in front-end and back-end development as I work towards becoming a Full-Stack Developer on the Web team.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Outside of my working hours, I like to read books, develop new skills, workout and spend time with my loved ones.
