Can you share a bit about your background and what sparked your interest in software development?
My interest in software development began in high school, where I was in a class focused on informatics and mathematics. Then I continued my studies at Sofia University, majoring in Software Engineering. I started my career with a bootcamp, then worked for six months as a junior backend programmer, and for the past seven months, I am part of the team at Anthill.
Describe your role at Anthill and what a typical day looks like for you.
I am a Junior Full Stack .NET Developer and part of the Estimating team. My day starts with a cup of coffee, followed by checking for any new assigned tasks or bugs, and then I start working on them. I also attend meetings with team members if needed, and we conclude the day with a daily stand-up meeting.
Technology is constantly evolving. Are there any technologies or tools that you’ve discovered or learned about at Anthill that have particularly excited or inspired you?
This is my first experience working with Angular, and thanks to my team, I’ve learned some best practices and design patterns. We make sure to stay up to date with the latest Angular versions and updates, which has been both exciting and inspiring.
What was your motivation to join Anthill’s team?
I wanted to gain experience working with these specific technologies. Additionally, during my interviews, I met some very kind and positive people, and I felt that we were a good match.
How does Anthill encourage and support you to grow on your software development journey?
We have the opportunity to attend any conference we choose, and we also have access to Udemy courses. In the seven months I’ve been with Anthill, they have organized our participation in two major conferences.
Can you share something that you are currently working on that you find particularly exciting or challenging, and why?
I’m currently working on a Calendar functionality that schedules tasks for estimators, provides filters by estimators and task types, and is somewhat similar to Google Calendar. This project is both exciting and challenging because it requires precision and creativity to meet the needs of our users.
Looking ahead, what aspects of software development are you most eager to explore or develop further skills in?
I would like to improve my current skills and definitely aim to develop enough to transition to a mid-level developer role.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy relaxing with my loved ones, traveling, spending time in the mountains, dancing, and experiencing positive emotions.
