Q: Tell us about you and your career journey as a software developer.
Angel: My journey in software development has been an exciting adventure marked by continuous learning and a passion for problem-solving. I first discovered my love for coding during my high school years when I enrolled in a school academy, initially diving into the world of Microsoft’s technologies. The logical puzzles and the ability to create something tangible from lines of code fascinated me, and I knew I wanted to dive deeper. My career officially kicked off five years ago when I got my first role as a Java developer. So far, the journey has been incredibly rewarding, and I look forward to the opportunities and discoveries that lie ahead.
Q: Can you describe your role at Anthill and what a typical day looks like for you?
Angel: As a Java Developer at Anthill, I’m responsible for developing and maintaining Java-based solutions, creating new features, and ensuring the quality and scalability of our application. Usually, during my day, I get assigned a task that I have to work on. Then I need to understand the requirements, figure out what is the best approach, and ensure that the implementation is done correctly.
Q: Please describe your job in a way that a 3-year-old would understand it.
Angel: I’m telling the computer how to build special programs.
Q: How do you stay current with the latest technologies and trends in software development?
Angel: Staying up to date is really important in our field. I regularly read tech blogs and articles, watch videos from industry influencers on social media, and if I need to gain more in-depth knowledge, I take online courses.
Q: What was your motivation to join Anthill’s team?
Angel: I liked the company’s vision and the specifics of the project I’m working on.
Q: Can you share a project that you are currently working on that you find particularly exciting or challenging, and why?
Angel: Currently, I’m working on a project for Allane Mobility Group. I’m part of a team developing a system for captive leasing of vehicles. What makes it exciting for me is that it’s something new and challenging. I get to utilize my programming skills to the maximum and dive into some technologies for the first time. It’s a great opportunity to learn and apply what I already know, which makes the whole project a fun and rewarding experience.
Q: Last but not least, what do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Angel: Outside of work, I like to stay active by going to the gym, spending time with friends, and playing PC games when I have time.
